Trackdays give you the chance to take to a purpose-designed track, along with other like-minded enthusiasts. Don’t be fooled by the words “racing track”, these events are not about racing at all nor even testing or practice for a race. They are days aimed at normal road users and strictly non-competitive, so there is no need to ever feel intimidated. We take care of the safety and organizational aspects, you concentrate on enjoying yourself and joining an ever-growing highly enthusiastic community of people wishing to enjoy their vehicles away from the congestion and dangers of the road.

There are few aspects of a trackday that are not fun that’s for sure, but there is also a more serious side to it. You could never learn the true ins and outs of how cars and bikes behave on the roads as the situations needed would certainly infringe the law and even worse, could pose serious danger. A trackday puts those limits to one side as the venues are designed for using machines on the limit. You’ll come away from every trackday you do a better driver/rider.

Yes, highly experienced instructors, some of whole you may even recognise from their professional careers, run all our events. They won’t aim to turn you into the next Rossi or Schumacher but the will certainly help improve your abilities. You can also extend instruction and take part in one of our EasyTrack Academy courses, these are the best upgrade you’ll ever purchase!

During the booking process things will be explained in-depth and their may be things specific to any individual event. For all events though you must have a driving licence. An unrestricted road licence is needed and, if a UK one, you must present both parts. For car trackdays, race licences as an alternative are NOT accepted but for bike trackdays you can bring an ACU Road-race licence. 

Yes. You must wear a helmet to EC-05 approval as a minimum. Full face are required for any vehicle without a permanently fixed roof. You can hire one from us at events but we strongly advise buying your own. 

For bike track days you must have full leathers. If 2 piece they must zip around 360 degree at the join with a locking CE tested and approved zip.
For car track days, you must wear clothes covering full arms and lengths and footwear must be suitable for the activity - no sandals or Doc Martens!

No, in fact you need to present a valid and unrestricted road driving licence for car events. Race licences are not accepted.
For bike track days you can also use an ACU road-race licence, but the road licence is preferred.

Yes that's fine. They must be sign-on as drivers do and you can only have passengers who are over 18 years old and in the front passenger seat only. Rules regarding clothing, helmets, seatbelts etc apply to passengers in the same way they do to drivers.

At most venues yes they can, some airfield based places don't allow it and the individual events will state this in their details. Anyone under 16yrs of age will not be allowed in the pit garages, pitlane or pit-wall.

Regardless of event format or venue, you'll get a minimum of 20 minutes per hour on track. That's a minimum and you'll likely get much more.

Although a trackday is generally a very safe, in reality accidents can happen. It would be dishonest for us to say otherwise. We endeavour to do absolutely everything possible to ensure the safety of trackday attendees, passengers and spectators alike. Part of this is staffing events above and beyond health & safety rules and only using fully qualified and professionally experienced people. Should the unfortunate happen, rest assured that the attending marshals and paramedics will be fully able to cope and that full and proper procedures would be followed. Like we say, it's very rare indeed for someone to get hurt and ultimatley any accident is usually down to the person concerned as, unlike the road, there are far less uncontrollable factors to worry about.

You will! Although trackday accidents are rare if you decide to take your vehicle on to a track you must be aware that are accepting the risk, after all only you will be in control! By becoming a member of EasyTrack you already agreed to this and do so again when booking a trackday and signing on. You will be required to sign a declaration at each event, this is compulsory on any trackday. The circuit, easytrack or any other person or company cannot be held responsible, even if an accident is not your fault. It is becoming increasingly unlikely that your road going policy is going to cover you for a trackday so make sure you check with your insurance company first. Make sure you mention that these events are non-competitive and no racing or time trialing is allowed and its and FAEO approved event. Many companies will cover you, for a small additional premium.

Each event will begin with a safety briefing. Each rule will be explained then and if you miss this briefing, you can't take to track, it's as simple as that. The rules are there to protect you and make sure your day is fun but safe. They cover things such has how overtaking happens, what to do when you see one of the various flags or lights, how to get off the circuit and how long to stay out there. Your booking information, indeed the event pages on this site will tell you what you need to bring along and how to prepare. Some of these are compulsory such as towing eyes in for cars and mirrors folded back for bikes.

There are a few things you will need to bring along and some general things that will need doing to make sure you are prepared. Take a look at the different car or bike novice sections for an indepth guide.

Don't be!  Any more advanced track users not being "considerate" to others will be removed from the track by the attending marshals immediately. They are the ones in the wrong. Speed is not necessarily an issue. Of course an overly slow driver can cause a nuisance, which is why we on sessioned events we select groups on the grounds of people's prior experience and where they will feel most comfortable. If sessions are clearly not working out: we change them. On open-pitlane events, we double the number of instructors available and also the total number of attendees is far lower than the circuit limit, meaning lots of trackspace, so a variation in speed in not such an issue. The use of novice stickers and jackets helps others give due space and consideration too. Never feel pressured to go faster than you want on a trackday, never. We strive to provide a comfortable situation for newcomers and old-hats alike, and only run formats appropriate to the circuit in question.

There is no longer any venue in Europe that does not have a noise limit in place. These are usually set by local government and it's a condition of trading that the circuits ensure that anything taking to their track, be it on a trackday or racing, is under a pre-set limit.

This is usually measured at a set number of revs 50cm from the exhaust outlet. The revs used will vary from venue to venue but in the UK for instance it's three quaters maximum for cars and a scale for bikes based on CC and cylinders. Each individual event you see on this site will have more detail on the exact limits and you can also find them in our venue guides.
Only a very small percentage of cars and bikes fall foul of this static test, however there is increasingly likely to also be a drive-by noise limit. This is measured at set points around the circuit and involves a reading when the trackday is "live". This test is usually the more difficult for borderline vehicles and, if you feel you will be one of those borderline cases, we recommend taking the optional noise test cover. If you don't, and you are restricted from taking to the track then you won't be able to get a credit or refund. It's 100% the responsibility of any trackday attendee to ensure they stay below these limits. If you have kept your car/bike standard, then it's likely the exhaust will do it's job and you wont need to worry.

Yes, a very good idea but always remember that only laps out on the track can really get some heat in the tyres so just because you've used warmers, don't ever forget to use the first 3 laps MINIMUM to put some proper heat in the rubber.
Some circuits don't have garages and power supplies so always check. A mobile generator is a good idea and you'll always find a friendly soul in the paddock who will let you share some power if not.

We make every effort to make all drivers feel relaxed and make sure they are alert and enjoy the day. We run NON-competitive track days. Anyone caught getting aggressive / competitive / dangerous on track will be removed from the circuit. With careful selection of sessions, total numbers, venue and highly experienced staff this is a rare comment. Ou on circuit numbers are generally far less than other organisers and that extra space means that varying speed and experience levels is far less of an issue, so there is no real excuse. On sessioned events, we always leave plenty of space to move people to a more appropriate group.

Generally yes, but they must be in good condition and you may not use them if the track isn't 100% dry. One or two circuits don't allow it, such as Castle Combe. Check the restriction boxes in the particular trackday information on the booking pages or venue guides.

Again, generally it's ok BUT at each event and venue the Clerk of the Course will have to approve the mounting of them. They must be secure and not in any area where they obstruct the view or the trackday attendee or are a possible danger to others by falling off. Putting cameras on the exteriour of a car is not allowed at any venue neither are helmet cameras or bullet cameras attached to motorbike fuel tanks. We have professional photographers at every event so this is your best way to get pictures. We also have a special video/gps data kit that can be hired out per session and our instructors will install the kit so you know it's ok.

Yes. We allow approx two thirds to be pre-reserved at the booking stage (£25) and the rest are left for first come first serve.

You can and no it wont. While we expect people to use any hire car/bike as they would their own that means not wanting to damage it! More details in our hire section.

While Easytrack is actually fully insured for such activities we cannot allow timing unless it's one of our exclusive "testing" days or an airfield action/autotest. Dataloggers can be used only if they are the GPS/accelerometer type and don't give any "live" timing results (such as our Vbox system which can be hired per session).

The nature of trackdays mean it's quite difficult for event organisers and as a general industry rule if you are within 4 weeks of an event then the booking is non-refundable and non-transferable. However, Easytrack offer a transfer as long as it's more than 14 days prior to an event. After that it relies on us first filling your slot and your credit would not be confirmed until after the event, less a admin fee. If we are 3 days or less before an event, then the booking will be lost.

No need to even let us know that you might be bringing along a different car or bike to a trackday than the one you had expected too. As long as they meet the standards required, it's fine. If you want to bring more than one bike then that's fine too.
For car trackdays more than one car to swap between is no problem as long as you don't have any 2nd drivers booked. If you have multiple cars and multiple drivers then you must book a place for each car.
